San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize Voted Top 10 City In The World For Street Food

by Admin on April 16, 2013

As I have traveled all around the world, it is always a pleasure to taste the local food and enjoy the native experience. One of the best ways to do this is through the street food stands. There is no better place on San Pedro, Ambergris Caye to experience the local cuisine that with its local street vendors. Sometimes a more appropriate wording would be “dock food.” Fishermen go out into the Caribbean on a daily basis and bring back fish to the dock vendors as well as the local restaurants. It can’t get any fresher than this! You can find wahoo, tarpon, tuna, snapper and other seafood. My favorite time of year to get the best street food is during lobster season. Lobster season is usually for a couple of weeks during the month of June. During this time, the locals put lobster in everything: casseroles, pastas, tacos, and much more. I’ve been to Belize during two different lobster seasons and it is some of the best eating I have ever done. Because other travelers have had similar experiences as me, the city of San Pedro on Ambergris Caye was voted a top 10 city in the world for street food.
